Prior to submitting a proposal, each new user who will be requesting funding support on behalf of an organization must complete a new user registration for our online portal, Lectrona. During the registration process, you will be asked to link your registration to an existing organization or create a new organization, provide basic business contact information, and create a password. Note: you may only be associated with a single organization in the portal.
After your registration is created, you will be able to log in and begin the application process.
Applying for Funding
All external funding applications for Medical Education Grants, Sponsorships and Corporate Memberships must be submitted via our online portal, Lectrona. Once received, Boehringer Ingelheim will carefully and fairly consider each request while considering applicable local laws and regulations with every effort made to provide a response once we have all the necessary information. The application form and requirement vary by funding type but typically require completion of an online application as well as uploading required documentation. To reduce processing time, the requesting organization should ensure uploaded documentation is consistent with your portal application entries. The latest application requirements for each request type are included on the portal for reference when applying.
Completed requests must be submitted within Lectrona for consideration at least 60 days prior to the program start date. This enables Boehringer Ingelheim to review each request thoroughly and answer any questions that applicants have during the process. Requests received with less than the required 60-day review period will not be accepted. It is recommended for proposals with events occurring in France, the United Kingdom, and Italy be submitted at least one hundred twenty (120) days prior to the overall program start date in case local government approvals are needed.
The outcome of each review may result in full or partial funding of the requested amount, or in a denial decision.
After Approval
The primary applicant for the proposal is notified via email about the funding decision. A letter of agreement is drafted and must be fully executed by required organizations prior to the start of program development by the funding recipient or Boehringer Ingelheim participation (for corporate memberships or event sponsorships). A post-program budget reconciliation and/or attestation is required for all funded programs. Additionally, post-program performance metrics must be completed as specified in the LOA.
